Las Vegas, NV (May 29, 2024)– Josh Reichard emerged victorious in the WPT® Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship event. Reichard claimed his first World Poker Tour® title, a place on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup, and $839,300, which includes a seat in the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

“All of my titles are minor league titles, but this is a major league title,” said Reichard when asked how it felt to be a WPT Champion. “It feels good to finally breakthrough and have one of this magnitude.”

The tournament drew a field of 1,869 entrants, amassing a substantial prize pool of nearly $6 million ($5,980,800). The seven-figure sum awarded a cash prize to the top 234 finishers.

“Once again, the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown did not disappoint,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Congratulations to Josh Reichard for completing such an incredible feat and becoming our newest WPT Champion.”

Play halted when the field reached six players remaining, and ultimately the final group concluded action at HyperX Arena in Las Vegas under the lights of the WPT television production. Landon Tice fell one spot short of the title, claiming the second-place prize of $550,000. He was preceded by Jesse Lonis (3rd place – $410,000), Alex Queen (4th place – $305,000), Dylan Smith (5th place – $230,000), and Aaron Kupin (6th place – $176,000).

Bubbling the TV final table was WPT Champion Dylan Linde (7th place). Other notable players finishing in the money were Season XII WPT Player of the Year Mukul Pahuja (19th place), Josh Arieh (44th place), WPT Ambassador Brad Owen (57th place), WPT Champion Chris Moorman (76th place), and three-time WPT Champion Eric Afriat (93rd place) who is set to compete in the WPT Choctaw final table at HyperX on May 30.
