Biography
Vanessa Rousso is a French-American poker player from Miami, Florida. During her career, she has cashed for more than $3.5 million and is a former member of Team PokerStars Pro. She attended Duke University and graduated with a degree in economics. She was on the Deans list and graduated after only two and a half years. From there, she attended the University of Miami School of Law. In 2015, she appeared on a season of Big Brother, but would ultimately finish third.
Poker Achievements
Rousso got into poker during her late teens, playing online and working on her game. She built up her bankroll and began taking shots at larger tournaments. In 2005, she entered the live tournament circuit and cashed in the $1,000 Ladies Event at the WSOP and also in Atlantic City at the WSOP Circuit event. During the late 2000s, Rousso would cash in events around the world. In 2006 she cashed in three WSOP events, with her best result being the eighth place finish in the $5,000 Short Handed No-Limit Hold’em even for just over $60,000. That year she also played the $25,000 WPT World Championship and placed seventh for over $260,000, just missing out on the televised final table. In 2009 Rousso made another final table, this time at the Southern Poker Championship $9,700 Main Event which she finished in seventh place collecting more than $260,000. However, she scored her best WPT result at the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic $10,000 Championship in 2010. Rousso reached the final table, and then busted out in third place taking home more than $350,000. The largest cash of Rousso’s career came in 2009, winning the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final 25,000 High Roller Championship and pocketing over $700,000 Also in 2010 Rousso placing eight in the $10,000 Heads Up Championship, this time collecting over $90,000 in prize money. Then in 2011 Rousso scored her best WSOP result to date after final tabling the 5,000 No-Limit Hold’em / Six Max Turbo event at the World Series of Poker Europe in Cannes, France. She ended up placing third in that tournament for a cash prize of more than 40,000. As of April 2022, her last recorded cash came in 2017. Since leaving poker she has since had three children with her wife Melissa Proce Ouellet.
