Sam Greenwood is a Canadian poker player and World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner with over $33.6 million in live tournament earnings as of September 2023.
Sam Greenwood Background
Greenwood is from Toronto, Canada and originally worked as a stock trader before making the jump to professional poker. He is the twin brother of professional poker player Lucas Greenwood and the younger brother of poker pro Max Greenwood.
Greenwood’s first live tournament cash dates back to 2008 when he finished eighth in the World Poker Tour (WPT) North American Poker Championship at Niagara Falls for $77,447.
Sam Greenwood Poker History
Greenwood won his first and only WSOP bracelet in 2015 when he took down Event #22: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em for $318,977.
The majority of Greenwood’s live tournament success has been on the overseas high-roller circuit. At the 2023 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), he had his biggest career cash with a victory in the $250,000 buy-in Super High Roller for $3.3 million.
Greenwood also has had success on the European Poker Tour (EPT) and took down the 2018 EPT Monte Carlo 100,000 Super High Roller for $1.9 million.
